A new age of Democracy and Socialism

Ave, Sandum Citizens!

With the demise of Supreme Leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Chairman of the National Defence Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, General Secretary of the Korean Worker’s Party, Supreme Commander of the Korean People’s Army, Chairman of the Central Military Commission of the Korean Worker’s Party Kim Jong-Il, the State of Sandus joins in the mourning of the North Korean people over the loss of the Supreme and Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong-Il. Kim Jong-Il and his Party Comrades of the Korean Worker’s Party were instrumental in the times following the economic depression and agricultural failure following both the demises of the Great Sun Comrade Kim Il-Sung and the Soviet Union. It was Kim Jong-Il’s work in the affairs of rationing which extended to many North Koreans food so that the impacts of the agricultural failure were less damaging. Though he is attacked as a Stalinist dictator manning a politically oppressive regime, it is clear that his efforts in these affairs and the establishment of Songun politics were instrumental to the welfare of the Socialist state of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
Manse!

Sandum citizens, it has been some time since I have last addressed you formally through this national register. Sadly, there has been little to report upon for national news and international news have been largely the same since the 9/27 foreign policy directive. Though, I am able to report that Holiday cards have finally been sent out, albeit late. They have been sent to:

  • Renasia
  • Landashir
  • St.Charlie
  • Egtavia
  • Francisville
  • Tiana & Zealandia
  • Koss
  • and other Sandum citizens.

I am proud to declare, as well, that the formal ballots for the December 22nd, 2011 (XXII F Decembro MMXI) Winter Solstice elections have been published and are ready for the elections. The ballot is a .TXT file comprised of an introduction about the ballot, the voting ballot — which must be completed! — and an additional appendix concerning the laws cited throughout the ballot. You must fill out three items: Name, Age and Voting Date. The rest of the ballot you may choose to abstain from certain subjects of the election by simply not replying. Though, this means that you will not be represented in the election according to your wishes. The two first sections, concerning the S8gm8 and the San8ba/Phanem Representative in that order, are perhaps the most important part of the election. A third section exists to ease the process of petitioning the Office of the S8gm8.

I am also proud to declare that I have finished the Act on the Enfranchisement of the Party of December 2011. This act creates the office of the Comrade Representative of the Citizens’ Communist Party of Sandus, an office held by the Secretary of the CCPS, as an advisor to the Office of the S8gm8 on democratic and socialist issues and interests. The CCPS is also to be created as a formal cooperative for the State to act as a democratic forum for all Sandum citizens and Party members and to act as a lobby for socialist interests of the State. However, to emphasise the authority of the Party and to declare again the Government’s support for Socialism and the CCPS, the government is to be held in good faith towards the Party though the S8gm8 continues to be the deciding factor of Sandum government policy and law as according to Article 3 of the Founding Law. Below is the text of the Law:

The Act on the Enfranchisement of the Party of December 2011
Preamble
In an effort to pursue policies of socialism and democracy to serve the Sovereign People of the State of Sandus, this State shall pursue policies of enfranchisement for the historical Party of the Sandum People; pursuant of socialism, the Citizens’ Communist Party of Sandus shall be nationalised by this State in order to act as a democratic forum for the voice of the People.
May we pursue policies of Socialism and Democracy:
Section 1 – Enfranchisement of the Party:
Article 1. The Citizens’ Communist Party of Sandus shall be organised as a cooperative of the State of Sandus, and under jurisdiction of the laws thereof.
Article 2. The Office of the Sôgmô shall draft, with the accompaniment of the Secretary of the Citizens’ Communist Party of Sandus, an official royal order establishing the Citizens’ Communist Party of Sandus as a cooperative of the State no later than April the 12th, 2012.
Article 3. The Citizens’ Communist Party of Sandus shall elect a Secretary six months following the election of the previous Secretary on the weekend following the 7th of November and April; should issues arise pending the election, the election may be postponed for a later date according to the incumbent Secretary.
Article 4. The Citizens’ Communist Party of Sandus, pursuant to Article 3 of the Founding Law, maintains a semi-governmental cooperative and organisation of the State of Sandus under the Office of the Sôgmô.
Article 5. The Office of the Sôgmô shall aim to respect the democratic forum of the Citizens’ Communist Party of Sandus and shall continue to advance the Party for the best interests of the People, of the State and Socialism in Sandus; the Sôgmô shall respect the right of petition as according to the forum of the Party and shall respond to Party petitions in due process.
Article 6. The office of the Secretary of the Citizens’ Communist Party of Sandus shall be synonymous with the office of the Comrade Representative of the Party; the Comrade Representative shall represent all party decrees to the office of the Sôgmô and shall instruct the Sôgmô on the wishes of the Party as a democratic forum and on issues of policy concerning Socialism in the State.

I hope that all Sandum citizens will vote on Thursday and enjoy that day as the Winter Solstice! For Christmas, I shall address all Sandum citizens and our state’s allies and again on the New Year. In pax deorum,

—  Sôgmô Sörgel.
