Results on the State Caucus’ referendum are in. The referendum was created in order to poll the Sandum people’s wishes for the sort of government that they would like. The unanimous decision was for a monarchy, with only one vote not accounted for. The unanimous decision on creating the monarchy is the first democratic decision by the Sandum people to create their government, which may likely slow and hinder any further changes to the government in the future, which are currently not yet planned. The dissolution of the State Caucus is planned for late next week, as we expect a constitution, founding law or a resolution forming the monarchy by April 14th, 2011. It is likely that the national referendum following the constitution’s passage by the State Caucus will be by-passed due to the taking of the Referendum 040911.
